Now, I've tried a lot of food in LA. Countless boba shops, infinite acai places, and really just all the trending places that you see TikTokers rave about. After trying all these sweet snacks, I found myself going back to Wushiland Boba and Oakberry Acai.

A quaint shop tucked away on the second floor of the Strand, By Tess is a cute boutique providing pastries, drinks, pottery, clothing, and artisanal items from cutting boards to scented candles.

As a self-proclaimed tea-girl, the news of Kung Fu Tea’s arrival in Summit left me excited. Like the Millburn location, Summit’s Kung Fu Tea has a spacious seating area great for friends, families, and more.

Just recently, I visited Summit’s Pita Grill & Creperie, located at 33 Union Place in downtown. This is a great addition to town as it is delicious, simple, and offers a wide variety of dishes.

A spectacular addition to the Summit community, Serra Doce is a beautiful European-style cafe with excellent food, and I cannot praise it enough.

Summit, NJ has a wide variety of pizza places, from the iconic Village Trattoria to the always tasty Zappia’s. The newest addition to the pizza lineup is SQR Artisan Pizza, located at 35 Union Place. SQR is an artisan pizza place, so you’re guaranteed a fresh, delicious pizza made with care and quality. They also offer a wide variety of pasta, salad, grilled sandwiches, and homemade gelato!

The grilled cheese is the most beloved sandwich known to humankind. However, I fear that it still doesn’t get enough love. Sure, one can just put a slice of cheese between two slices of bread but with the right amount of attention, you can elevate these staple sandwiches to their full potential. Since we need to cozy up in these cold winter days, I’m going to let you in on my sandwich secrets.

This July, I had the pleasure of spending a week in the amazing city of Brigantine, New Jersey. Where is the flair in ice cream? Where is the pizzazz? If you’re like me and feel the urge to ridicule an inanimate food based on its appearance, ridicule no more. Ice cream is no longer boring. How did I make this discovery? By walking into Z-Rolls in Summit NJ, at 452 Springfield Avenue. This workspace makes a very special type of ice cream - one rolled into ribbon-like shapes! The concoction is made by mixing any add-ins (such as Oreo pieces) into the base, chopping and spreading the mix onto a cold metal slate, and finally rolling the ice cream into individual pieces. Delicious and definitely fun!

When I think of summer, I think of swimming in the ocean, long walks on the beach, and ice cream. Ice cream is my absolute favorite summer treat. However, I have a slight problem: I'm allergic to dairy and nuts! That means I'm constantly on the hunt to find the best non-dairy ice cream out there, and after years of vigorous searches, I've finally found it: Zita's Homemade Ice Cream at 1790 Springfield Ave, New Providence, New Jersey. So, I'd like to highlight two delicious flavors that I've absolutely fallen in love with: Blood Orange Sorbet and Vanilla Oat Milk.

Liberty Bistro is a fairly new and beautiful brasserie stationed next to Battery Park, overlooking the Hudson River. The servers are warm and welcoming and the authentic French cuisine is spectacular. It was a delight to dine there, and I believe the experience is definitely worth the money.

The first municipality in the state to recognize gay marriage, South Orange is accepting and welcoming towards anyone lucky enough to stop by. Additionally, they offer many different restaurants that satisfy a multitude of culinary tastes! I stopped by three different eateries seen as historical and cultural staples of the township - Bunny’s, Toro Loco, and Town Hall Deli.

We all know that summer means all sorts of things, like no school, tank-top season, and about a million people starting sentences with  “Ugh it’s so hot I’m dyyyyyying”.  But for me, the beginning of summer means one thing: It’s time to stuff my face with sugar and have fun doing it. So, here are 3 amazing places in Summit, New Jersey that are sure to satisfy even the most stubborn sweet tooth. 

Thankfully, the chance arose to see my grandparents at their house in Northern Jersey, where my grandmother cooked a recipe she had cooked for years. The recipe is still a mild yet hearty crowdpleaser today!

Okay - first of all did you know there is currently a national bubble tea shortage?! I know it seems crazy, but it’s true! I could see why since literally who doesn’t love boba, lol!
