3 Places to Cure Your Boba Craving in NJ

Ah, bubble tea. Just thinking about that seamless combination of tea and sweet tapioca pearls makes me happy. Whether you prefer milk tea or fruit tea, it’s undeniable that boba is the perfect treat for the summertime. And whether you’re a boba connoisseur or just starting out on your bubble tea journey, here’s a list of 3 Places to Cure Your Boba Craving.

Gong Cha’s Dirty Brown Sugar Milk Tea

Gong Cha’s Dirty Brown Sugar Milk Tea

Gong Cha

Locations:

  • Edison, NJ

  • Millburn, NJ

  • Palisades Park, NJ

  • Fort Lee, NJ

  • And pretty much everywhere else in New Jersey

Gong Cha is essentially the Starbucks of boba- it’s everywhere. This bubble tea shop boasts a vast menu, ranging from milk teas to slush drinks to coffee-infused beverages to good ol’ fruit teas (not to mention their wide selection of toppings). And what makes Gong Cha so great is the customizability of their drinks. Their menu provides various levels of ice and sugar, to ensure an amazing experience for all. I would highly suggest their Dirty Brown Sugar Milk Tea (pictured below!) from their Milk Foam Series. The creaminess of the foam takes the classic milk tea to another level, along with the brown sugar syrup that adds a hint of sweetness (which for all of my folks with a sweet tooth, is always appreciated).

Kulu Desserts

Location: Edison, NJ

I discovered Kulu Desserts several weeks ago and have been itching to go back ever since. While their bubble tea selection is not as big as Gong Cha’s, it’s certainly not one to be overlooked. Kulu Desserts, which stands for Keep Ur Life Unique, serves an array of milk teas, flavored teas, fresh fruit teas, fresh milk drinks, cheese foam drinks, and much more. And on top of the plethora of drinks this shop has, they also serve Instagram-worthy desserts. Waffles, sweet and savory crepes, Hong Kong Bubble Waffles, Taro Balls, and all kinds of pudding- everything you can imagine! If you decide to go try out Kulu Desserts, check out their Black Sugar Milk Tea with tapioca, as well as the Pinky Rose Bubble Waffle (both shown below)!

Cafe Teasia

And at last, we have arrived at what may just be my all-time favorite bubble tea shop, Cafe Teasia. Like the previous two stores, Cafe Teasia’s menu contains a ton of drink options. With almost every fruit tea flavor imaginable, everyone is sure to find something that’s right up their alley. Aside from boba, though, what Cafe Teasia is probably most well-known for is their Snow Ice, otherwise known as bingsu in Korean. From traditional Snow Ice flavors, such as strawberry, chocolate, matcha, and black sesame, Cafe Teasia’s bingsu, too, has something for everyone. And what’s even more is that Cafe Teasia also serves pastries, like build-your-own bubble waffles and croissants. My go-to item from Cafe Teasia’s menu is definitely their Passion Fruit Flavored Tea with lychee jelly!

*Cafe Teasia offers a punch card that gifts you with a free drink, every 9 drinks you purchase!

Hopefully, the next time you’re in need of a sugar fix, you’ll try out one of these incredible boba shops! I swear- you won’t regret it :)
