SQR Artisan Pizza

Summit NJ has a wide variety of pizza places, from the iconic Village Trattoria to the always tasty Zappia’s. The newest addition to the pizza lineup is SQR Artisan Pizza, located at 35 Union Place, Summit, NJ 07901.

SQR is an artisan pizza place, so you’re guaranteed a fresh, delicious pizza made with care and quality. Along with artisan pizza, they offer a wide variety of pasta, salad, grilled sandwiches, beverages, and even gelato!

Alongside normal, tried-and-true cheese pizza, they offer tons of interesting new flavors. One of these flavors is a Salsiccia Pizza, which has crushed tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, crumbled with wood-fired sausage, along with roasted peppers and basil. Sounds amazing, right?!

When I heard that SQR was opening up in Summit, I knew I had to try it. When the day came and I was able to try the new square pizza, let’s just say I was VERY excited; and they did not let me down. With every bite, I was able to feel the time and love spent crafting it. I tried the large cheese pizza, and it had the perfect ratio of cheese and sauce. As someone who loves the crust, having the pizza in a square shape allowed the corners to have twice the amount of that crunchy, doughy goodness that I could not get enough of. In my professional pizza testing opinion, refined after many years of pizza eating, I would say that this pizza location is a perfect place for a group of friends to have lunch or where a family could easily grab dinner. The contemporary interior/design and modern display cases allow for a fresh take on a pizzeria.

Unlike other pizza places, SQR offers homemade gelato with a variety of flavors. I didn't get the chance to try any, but just looking at them made my mouth water. There are many tables inside, distanced, to allow maximum safety for fellow pizza eaters. The employees were kind and inviting, and I would definitely go again. If you are a pizza junkie like me you’ll love this place and appreciate this fresh new take on pizza!
