Cinco De Mayo: Elderflower Margarita
It’s Cinco de Mayo! Time to celebrate the best way I know how – mixing drinks of course!
I decided to go the untraditional route this year, and whip up something new… so let me introduce to you the Elderflower Margarita!
I absolutely love Elderflower. With such a deep flavor profile it’s hard not to be drawn to its sweetness and earthiness. To make sure everyone can enjoy this delicious beverage I made both a regular version and a mocktail version!
Check below for both recipes, and videos to go with each!
Traditional:

Coarse salt
1.5 oz silver tequila
1 oz elderflower liqueur
1/2 oz Cointreau
2 oz lime juice
0.5 oz simple syrup

Steps:
Slice an orange wedge and rim your rocks glass
Dip the rim in coarse salt and then add ice to your glass
In a shaker with ice, combine tequila, elderflower liqueur, Cointreau, lime juice, simple syrup, and a squeeze of fresh orange juice
Shake well and strain over ice into your glass
Garnish with an orange wheel on the side of the glass and a little flower on top if you have one!
