Welcome to The Summit Reel!

Edited by Lydia Boubendir

With new articles for Summit, from Summit, and about Summit published three times a week, we at The Summit Reel are committed to delivering content curated for Summit residents of all age groups.

Nice to meet you! As a local sophomore, I’m so excited to start this journey and showcase my appreciation for this community.

We’re powered by local teens and realtors who want to show potential future residents exactly what Summit has to offer. Through delivering local news and promoting local businesses, our ultimate goal is to support the community. (We have an exciting opportunity coming soon for high-schoolers living in the area in that regard. We post regularly on Instagram and Facebook, so follow us there to stay tuned!)

Regular publications at this magazine will include a Home of the Month article and a real estate market update (courtesy of The Price Group), book reviews, and a Pet of the Month section in the first article of every month. For the chance to get your pet published in this magazine, follow us on Instagram @thenewjerseyreel or @bythereel, or on Facebook, and DM us! Dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, birds, snakes, horses – any and all submissions are welcome!

We appreciate every single one of our readers. If you ever see us walking about in town, you’re always welcome to stop by and say hello.  Remember: we’re about Summit, for Summit, from Summit, so chances are you’ll see us around pretty often!

Lydia Boubendir

As Editor-in-Chief, Lydia’s responsibilities include editing articles, monitoring site analytics, and managing and teaching her team of writers – and she loves every minute of it. Winner of a Regional Silver Key for poetry in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, she is a fervent reader and writer; moreover, she is an avid learner of all subjects. Besides English, she is particularly passionate about mathematics and computer programming, and she spends her free time nose-deep in a novel or textbook, perusing arbitrary Wikipedia pages, and cooking. Above all else (except for maybe her cat, Lily), Lydia loves helping others, and is grateful for this opportunity to give back to her community.
