Welcome January 2021!

Welcome to January 2021! Here’s a recap of all we’ve done in the past month:

Recap

This year has been a tough one, but there have been a few good moments for our Summit community. Check out our article all about it.

In the past month, we interviewed and featured The Lash Lounge and Opulent Obsessions, both of which are wonderful businesses with incredible staff. They embody the qualities our Summit community is built upon – love and passion for said community – and offer amazing products and services. Go show some love!

Similarly, I and our social media manager, Liza, had a lot of fun at the town-sponsored event Carriages & Carolers. Here’s to hoping there will be many more in the future.

Our Home of the Month last month was 10 Countryside Drive in Livingston. It’s a gorgeous house; its owners are very lucky people!

Pet of the Month

For the first time in The Reel history, I’m very proud to announce our January Pet of the Month!

Lola, fondly referred to as Chiquita, is an adorable little dog submitted to the magazine by our social media manager, Liza, and her sister, our principal, Anna. She likes long walks in parks, food made at home and made with love, and snuggling with either sister.

For the opportunity to have your pet featured, please DM us on Instagram!

Upcoming

In the next month, we will be announcing our presence on another social platform (look out for that!) and featuring more local businesses! If you’d like your business to be featured, please contact us here, DM us on Instagram, or email us at thesummitreel@gmail.com.

All in all, we at The Reel are extremely excited to start the new year and get even more involved with the community. Thank you so much for your support; see you next Monday!

Lydia Boubendir

As Editor-in-Chief, Lydia’s responsibilities include editing articles, monitoring site analytics, and managing and teaching her team of writers – and she loves every minute of it. Winner of a Regional Silver Key for poetry in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, she is a fervent reader and writer; moreover, she is an avid learner of all subjects. Besides English, she is particularly passionate about mathematics and computer programming, and she spends her free time nose-deep in a novel or textbook, perusing arbitrary Wikipedia pages, and cooking. Above all else (except for maybe her cat, Lily), Lydia loves helping others, and is grateful for this opportunity to give back to her community.
