Two Flower Cafe: Review

Avocado toast with tomato

Two Flower Cafe is one of the best dining experiences to be had in downtown Great Barrington. Delicious drinks, fresh food, and a quaint seating area completed the peaceful atmosphere.

Two Flower, named after a kind of flower native to the Berkshire area, is located on Railroad Street in downtown, between a boutique and an art supplies shop. It’s an ideal location for some shopping after a fulfilling breakfast, or grabbing an iced beverage to parade around the town.

First things first – the ambiance. Yellow doors and big windows give the cafe a cheerful disposition, full of beautiful natural light. The gorgeous outdoor and indoor seating guarantees a picture perfect dining experience. Even the bathrooms were adorable and incredibly clean. I didn't spend a lot of time indoors, because the outdoor space was so inviting to me, but from what I saw it was very clean and quiet – the perfect place to come and have a working breakfast.

Two Flower’s staff is also very pleasant and welcoming. I had the opportunity to talk to Rupert Jones, the owner of the cafe. Originally from New Jersey, he once owned Drip Coffee and has a great deal of experience in the coffee and dining industry. A vibrant character and an amazing host, it was wonderful striking up a conversation with him.

Only adding to the great decor and people, the food is amazing. I opted for the avocado toast (as advised by Rupert), and it tastes as good as it looks. The crunch of the bread was incredibly satisfying, and the ingredients tasted fresh and homemade. I was also told by a friend that the California BLT is “to die for”, and a must-try. The chai tea was a very nice addition to the meal, and the cappuccinos were a hit all around.

I would highly recommend visiting Two Flower when you’re in the area! And definitely tag them (and us, obviously) when posing about their amazing cafe! Their Instagram handle is @twoflowergb, and our own is @theberkshiresreel!
