My Top 5 Favorite Thrift Stores in NJ

Whether I’m in search of a retro t-shirt or vintage pieces of furniture to revamp my home, the thrift store is always my first choice. Despite the possibly dingy lighting and overwhelming piles of product, thrift stores are treasure troves for those who know how and where to look (and have the patience to look through every aisle!). I’ve rounded up my top five favorite thrift stores in New Jersey and I am so excited to share them with you.

Then & Now Classics – Hawthorne, NJ

Then & Now Classics is filled to the brim with beautiful paintings, colorful vases, and cool knick-knacks to help spruce up your space. Floor-to-ceiling collectibles in every nook and cranny, so be prepared to dig! The entrance is located behind the building so make sure you pull all the way back to enter.

Cape May Antique Center – Cape May, NJ

I recently discovered the Cape May Antique Center and I’m so glad I did! It’s like a maze full of amazing finds and some really great pieces for your home and closet. I recently scored a vintage Coach bag from the 1970’s for only $50!

Market Street Mission Thrift Store – Morristown, NJ

So many unique and fun items at very reasonable prices, and it’s huge! The Market Street Mission is in a 25,000 square foot industrial center, which houses the Thrift Store and Warehouse, at the end of George Street in Morristown. Every purchase helps fund the Life Change Program, an initiative helping those facing poverty, homelessness and addiction in the community. You can learn more about their mission here.

Valley Vintage – West Orange, NJ

This is a fun one!

Similar to the Cape May Antique Center, Valley Vintage is practically a maze with two floors full of mid-century modern furniture and lamps, glassware, records, luggage, even clothing and jewelry. The basement is packed with larger furniture that would make great statement pieces. It’s worth the browse and the people working here are always very friendly and helpful!

Antique Emporium of Asbury Park – Asbury Park, NJ

I’m a big fan of Asbury Park, so I was so excited to find the Antique Emporium. So many novelties and vintage knick-knacks to obsess over. And amazing pieces of art and collectibles if you're looking for something really special.

Thrifting is not for everyone, it can be time consuming and tiring BUT if you give it the time it deserves, I promise you’ll find some really unique pieces. There's no better feeling than scoring a one-of-a-kind find – a totally unique treasure that no one else will have! HAPPY THRIFTING!
