Review:

If you’re a fan of fantasy, romance, action, and mystery, then this is truly the novel for you.

Crescent City House of Earth and Blood and House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J. Maas

Sarah J. Maas is famous for her hit fantasy novels like Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses, all of which are bestselling series, each book as successful as the last. As expected, her Crescent City series is a favorite among readers everywhere, acclaimed for its immersive world-building, wonderful pace, and exhilarating action sequences.

I refuse to give any spoilers. I was fortunate enough to read it without knowing anything about the plot (due to my dutiful avoidance of BookTok) and, let me tell you: I was squealing, laughing, and crying (I actually sobbed for an embarrassingly-long amount of time at the end). Although the book may start a little slow, its last 100 pages are all indubitably worth it. An emotional rollercoaster, the highs are very high, and the lows are very low – in the best way. Every loose end is tied up in a satisfying conclusion as the mystery is finally resolved.

The second novel (House of Sky and Breath) is out now, and the third novel in the series is scheduled to come out at some point in 2023. Without saying too much: House of Sky and Breath is just as good as the first, and its ending (particularly, its epilogue) had me collapse on my couch, unintelligibly babbling to my friend.

Pick up this book; I guarantee, you will not regret it.
