Blackberry Sake Bramble

Happy April, and Happy Spring! As we come up on Easter weekend I thought it would be fun to share one of my new favorite cocktails! Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • Pint of blackberries

  • Sugar

  • Lemon

  • Sake

  • Simple Syrup

Steps:

  1. Make blackberry syrup: add your blackberries, juice from half of a lemon, and a cup of sugar into a saucepan and put on medium heat. Begin smashing the blackberries with a fork so the juices combine with the sugar. Mash and stir until bubbling. Add cup of water, and simmer for 10 minutes or until all sugar is dissolved. Cool at room temperature.

  2. Fill your shaker halfway with ice

  3. Place a few blackberries into the freezer

  4. Pour in 2 oz sake, 1 oz lemon juice, 0.5 oz regular simple syrup and shake well

  5. Fill your glass of choice with ice and strain mixture into glass

  6. Pour 2 oz blackberry syrup over the back of a spoon into the glass

  7. Garnish with your now frozen blackberries from the freezer, and some edible flowers for a little spring-time flair!
