The Coffee Stops of Summit, NJ

There are so many places in downtown Summit which feature a great coffee selection. Coffee is a part of almost everyone’s routine nowadays, and also brings a big debate as to what coffee shops arguably have the best coffee to offer.

In town we have Gregory’s (the latest coffee shop to open), Serra Doce, Boxwood Coffee, and of course, the well-known Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks Coffee.

Typically, I have made the choice to stick with either Dunkin’ or Starbucks (the reliable, cookie-cutter chains) before trying some of the lesser known coffee shops. Once I started trying the new places in Summit, I found it interesting how there were distinct difference between different brands of coffee.

Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks Coffee

If you’re looking to go somewhere simple, I recommend going to Dunkin’ - you really can’t go wrong with their coffee, or even their iced teas! If you’re looking to go somewhere with a lot to offer, I would suggest Starbucks - especially during the season of the famous pumpkin spice lattes. Both chains have indoor and outdoor seating options, as well as the opportunities for mobile and in-person order. All three Dunkin’ locations even have curbside pick-up, if you download the Dunkin App.

Our “Local” Flavors

And if you’re looking for somewhere with flavors you wouldn’t even think of, try Serra Doce, Boxwood, or Gregory’s!

By The Reel has already had the privilege of featuring both Serra Doce and Gregory’s - both on our blog and social media. Serra Doce is definitely the stop to make if you’re looking for a quiet, chill environment to sit down and work away at. They small-bakery items have rich flavors and are the perfect pick-me-up, alongside their extensive drink menu.

Gregory’s is a New York-based chain, with locations all along the East Coast. They’re what we would consider a “broader” local - and they’re the perfect addition to the Summit, NJ community!

As a coffee fan myself, I can tell the difference between a bad and a good cup of coffee. Luckily, the coffee is great anywhere you can find a cup in Summit. Whether it be iced, hot, or blended, Summit’s choice of coffee shops never fails to disappoint.

Make your way to downtown Summit and try something you haven’t before. Each coffee shop is open everyday from morning until evening. Stop by whenever you get the chance!
